Create Your Florida Smart ID

Required Items

  1. Device with the FL Smart Wallet app.
    • Your FL Smart ID is accessible only on the device where it was created and cannot be used on multiple devices.
  2. Your latest physical Florida REAL ID-compliant driver's license or ID.
  3. Good lighting.

Instructions

1. After creating your account, tap Next on the Let's create your Smart ID page to start creating your Florida Smart ID.

2. Tap Continue to proceed with taking a selfie.

  • Follow on-screen instructions, keep a neutral expression, use balanced lighting, and remove glasses and hats.

3. Align your face within the white silhouette.

  • Your facial image will be captured automatically.

  • If your facial image is not captured automatically, tap TAKE PHOTO to capture it manually.

4. Once your facial image has been successfully captured, ID capturing will begin. Tap Next or Skip to proceed with scanning your ID.

5. Clearly display the front of your ID in the camera.

  • A photo will be taken automatically.

  • If the photo isn't taken automatically, tap the HELP button at the bottom right to capture it manually. 

  • Select I PREFER TO CAPTURE THE PHOTO MANUALLY to continue then follow the instructions on the screen.

6. Now show the back of your ID. Tap Continue to proceed.

  • A photo will be taken automatically.

  • If the photo isn't taken automatically, tap the HELP button at the bottom right to capture it manually. 

  • Select I PREFER TO CAPTURE THE PHOTO MANUALLY to continue then follow the instructions on the screen.

7. Upon successful verification of your ID, your Smart ID along with any vehicles associated with your ID will be displayed automatically.

  • Biometrics are required every time you want to access your information.
